Online Safety Issues

We have received news of two separate safeguarding concerns regarding social media that are present in the wider community.

The first concern involves a private Facebook group operating in South Wales called Small Butterfly. This group discusses sensitive issues with users such as suicide and offers information and ways to ‘prepare for the special day’ that are very worrying.

The second concern involves TikTok, and the rumours that  24th April is a national sexual assault day. You may have seen coverage of this in the news.

Both Facebook and TikTok are age restricted and no primary aged pupils should be using them.

Please talk to your children about what they are looking at online and ensure that they are safe and keep away these and other dangerous situations online.

Christmas Video 2020

Good evening everyone!

The ongoing pandemic has allowed us to offer our school concert in a new way this year. We wanted to do something in a safe way to celebrate the festive season in a different way to normal. Each class has been learning about a different country and their traditions then made a video of their work to share.

We truly hope that by next Christmas the three wise men are able to travel again, the angels can come and visit and the only masks worn will be part of the costumes on stage! But for now we are pleased to present “Christmas around the world”

Watch our Christmas celebrations on YouTube

(This is a playlist and when one video ends it will move to the next)

We hope you enjoy!

We wish you all a safe, happy, and healthy Christmas and New Year from all the staff and pupils of Ysgol Bryn Teg!
